LDN WMN – Irene Ho Tung by Stephanie K Kane

Irene Ho Tung was the first woman to study English at the University of Hong Kong. She established the first Chinese supplementary school in London, focusing on Chinese language, life and culture. @stephaniekkane’s work was painted in pink and orange to symbolise survival and hope, bringing Irene to life at Liverpool Street station. Stephanie was frustrated with how little information was available about her and i think this project was so important for connecting some amazing historical women to the current day.
