Espolon – Equality, 2015

Another piece from my first major project for Espolon Tequila.

This commision was really the first opportunity where I was given freedom to make art in my own style. I had previously made three circular self portraits made up of small illustrated motifs, so to have a brand invest in me, wanting me to develop and push myself with themes was a big confidence boost for 21 year old me. This piece came the most naturally to me as it was most similar in themes to my work, but I enjoyed creating other pieces about Death, the Environment and Privacy and Technology which challenged my to draw objects I hadnt tried before. I incorporated a skeleton in the center of each piece to connect to the José Guadalupe Posada inspired branding of Espolon.
